Damages in shipping and manufacturers defects:

If you notice damages or defects to your order once it has been opened and you choose to return the order, you are responsible to re-package the order using the item’s original packaging materials and assure that the product is suitable for shipping. We will work to fix the issue by either replacing the product at no costs or if you choose to return the item, you are responsible for the return shipping costs. Once we’ve received the item and inspected it with the documentation you provided we’ll issue a refund. Sale items are not eligible for a full refund. All custom items are a final sale and not eligible for return. Please contact us within 3 days of receiving your order if your item is damaged with written documentation, photos of the product and damaged box. If you’re item was shipped through UPS, Freight carriers, uShip or white glove companies we will be in touch with you about damage options through their policies as well as our own. Please note that any freight shipments need to be inspected once delivered and if there is damage to the product, you need to mark it as “damaged” before the truck driver leaves your home and/or office. If you choose to receive a refund of a damaged product then you will be refunded after the insurance process is completed.

Return Due to Customer Choice:

For all returns excluding damages and defects, you must repackage the order using the items’ original packaging materials assuring that the product is suitable for shipping. You are responsible to ship the order back to Southern Sunshine. You can use a shipping carrier that is the most convenient for you. You are required to contact us about the return within 10 days of receiving of your order. All return orders are subject to a 25% restocking fee. All custom items and/or made to order items are a final sale and not eligible for return.

Different Climates and Warping:

Wood changes in each environment and sometimes can possibly warp if it goes from a cold climate to a hotter climate etc. Even during shipping warping can happen due to changes in climate that can allow the wood to absorb moisture during transit (causing the product to warp). When it leaves our shop, we make sure that nothing is warped, lifting or out of alignment. If your product warps over time we would be happy to provide a discount on a new product for you.
